How to Remove Prune Baby Food Stains
As your child starts to grow, you might be surprised by the number of different stains that await you. It’s like the amount of exploring your little one gets up to is directly linked to the number of stained clothes waiting for you in your laundry basket! Mealtimes are especially likely to bring you some unexpected stain challenges.
Take fruit for example. Children love fruit but smooshed banana, squirts of grape juice and brown pear stains all present washing challenges. But, if you find yourself faced with a prune-flavored baby food stain, you needn’t worry.
Clothes Meet Prunes
Prunes are a great treat, but prune stains are without a doubt, a hassle. Whether your little boy or girl has rubbed pureed prunes into his or her sleeves, or dribbled some prune-flavored baby food down the front of their top, mealtime for active babies is a laundry danger-zone.

Stain removal steps
Remove excess
Scrape off any remaining bits of prune before rinsing the fabric under cold, running water. Use a high water pressure to make stain removal easier.

Pour
Cover the whole stain in Dreft Stage 2: Active Baby Detergent, pouring from the cap or bottle.

Pre-treat
Get a bucket, sink or bowl to create a soaking solution. Add 1 ounce or 1 ½ tablespoons of Dreft per gallon of warm water. Soak the clothes for 30 minutes. To keep the stained clothes underwater, place a white towel on top.

Dose
To dose the right amount of detergent, read the instructions on the packet, and use the cap to measure. Pour it into the detergent dispenser if you have a high-efficiency machine, or directly into the drum if you have a non-HE machine.

Load
Put the stained clothes into the washer.

Wash with Dreft
Read the instructions on the fabric care label when selecting the wash cycle and water temperature.

Unload
If the stain persists, repeat the previous steps before tossing it in the dryer, as drying will set the stain.

And there you have it – without a pruney finger in sight, your child’s clothes will be clean and ready for the next adventure. It’s no surprise that Dreft Stage 2: Active Baby Detergent is recommended by Pampers and that moms trust this gentle detergent to take care of washing their children’s clothes.
